Hanim's Sports Day

Last Saturday, it's Sports Day for Hanim. The event took place at Pusat Rekreasi Balok.

We went there at around 7.30 in the morning.
First is the registration. There's a door gift for everyone.

Then Hanim joined her friends in line.

First is the senamrobic. We parents had a good laugh watching the children. The teachers and some parents participated in the senamrobic too...

After that, there's a show for the parents from 6 year old children.
Hanim get to stand at the front. It's a pom-pom show.

Here's a short video of the pom-pom show.

After that the game starts. Since there are four age group, there's only time for two games for each age group.
Hanim got to play in the 'bottle fishing' game and the 'hold the ball together' game.

It weren't much actually, but it's a fun day for the kids...

There's also game for the parents. Ina and me participated. I won a hamper for my group's effort.

Engagement Ceremony.

Last week, we went balik kampung. It's the school holidays. So what's up? Well...we're having a kenduri, that's what.

My sister in law Rose is getting engaged. My father in law decided to do it big. "Biar tumbang lembu sekor" he said. What to say, Rose is the youngest in the family and the last yet to get hitched.

On the big day, things started going in the early morning. A cow has been slaughtered and its meat taken back for processing.

~Meat cutting~

Everyone around came to help. They have been assigned with specific tasks. I helped around, here and there.

~My beras..errr biras, Shahril~

In the afternoon, it all begins. The groom-to-be has arrived...
Ayah is all dressed up in baju melayu complete with samping.
The 'hantaran' is exchanged. Discussion follows after that regarding the engagement. Terms and conditions apply hehe...

Then it all ends and Rose is officially engaged to her fiance, Shahril. Yep, there are Shahrils in the family. Let's decide how to differentiate them later...

I guess all's well ends well.
Our family wishes Rose and Shahril all the best and may their hope tranlates into marriage as planned next year.
