Hanim Teaching Alyssa To Read
I saw Hanim teaching Alyssa reading. I guess she really wants to be a teacher when she grows up. That's what she's been telling me when asked. Hmmm...I guess it's ok for her to be a teacher one day...she's got the talent hehe...

We gathered and have breakfast at Restoran Zaman in the morning. We got on our way at around 0830 hrs. The journey went well and smooth.
We arrived at RnR Sungai Perak at around 1330 hrs. We had our lunch there. The kids played while the parents have their lunch.

We arrived at Laketown Hotel at 1600 hrs. We rest for a while, bathe and then we're on our way to Penang. Ina wanted to have nasi kandar for dinner.
We took the ferry to the island.
~Duan & Pian choosing what to buy~
First destination is the Orang Utan island. The boat trip takes around 10 mins.

After that, we took the next boat back to mainland. Next is the chairlift to get a view of the area.

The we went back to the hotel to change clothes. It's time for the Water Park..
We had a great time there. Just a few pics to share..

The same night, we went to Taiping. We had dinner there then we went for Zoo Taiping's Safari ride.

Day 3 - 04/01/2009
Our final day. We checked out at around 1200 hrs. I didn't take pics whatsoever so there's nothing to share. The trip back went smooth and as planned. We stopped at Ipoh and have our lunch there, then we're back on our way.
When we arrived at Batang Kali, we decided to go for a ride on the Genting's Skyway. The girls are excited. We went for a walk around Genting then we head down and back to Kuantan we go...

Well..it's been a nice weekend for me and my family. Maybe planning on something else later...

Balik Kampung.
We went 'balik kampung' last week to pay my in laws a visit. My sister in law who is very close with Hanim and Alyssa is also there for the weekend. Went back on Friday. Stayed there for 6 days.
Not a lot of activities done, but we did have fun...
The very next day, I took the girls to a small river near my in laws' house. It's a small river but it's clean. There are fishes swimming around which the girls find interesting. They kept asking the names of fishes found there. I only know a few...sebarau, jelawat and lampam. The others...I'll answer later...

After that, we went back. Alyssa found this 'swing' hanging and she loves to just relaxing there....swinging back and forth. I just had to take a pic of her resting...

On Sunday, we went to attend a wedding ceremony in Berengkam. It's a remote village in Kuala Lipis. And when I say remote, I really mean remote. It took us about 40 mins to reach the small village, via a small winding road.
I didn't take any pic of the ceremony but I took some pics of the surroundings. What I find interesting is that the village connects with the nearby village via a hanging bridge. I took a few pics there.

~Motorcycle crosses the bridge...long way to go~

On wednesday, Ina and I went to Bukit Betong's pekan sehari. It's a day market where the villagers come out and sell vegetables that they planted. A few sellers from outside also comes here to sell their stuff.
It's 8 am but the area is still covered in mist, something that I seldom experience in Kuantan...

We went back home to Kuantan on Wednesday.
It's New year...so a happy New Year to everyone...

One of the villager there found a 'siamang' and he raised it in captivity. The girls found it interesting. I guess they have never seen such creature.
